Leave it behind
How often do you recall your mistakes? How many of them do you consider to be failures?

Are you tormented with guilt about past events in your life?
Are you still considering what would happen if…?
People who frequently think in this way are not happy. They can’t see the positive sides of their situation, because somewhere in their minds they are having premonitions of misfortunes. They are not able to look ahead with hope, because they don’t believe in themselves and the world’s kindness. They are ruled by their pasts.
The past has gone. It’s us to decide on our present and future.
You’ve made mistakes? Think about what to do in order not to make them again. Every person who is aspiring to something will stumble one day, or sometimes fall over. Failures are a proof of trying to change something, of acting. Mistakes are not made by the one who does nothing.
Feeling guilty doesn’t help as well. “How stupid I was! It was enough to do this or that after all, and it would be OK!” Yes, NOW you see how easy you could have avoided making mistakes. But THEN you did as best as you could using your knowledge and emotions of that time. Do you want to punish yourself for that for the rest of your life?
Nurturing the feeling of guilt weakens your self-confidence. It also destructively affects your relationship with other people e.g. lack of self-confidence will not help to find you people ready to co-operate.
Closed in your past, you can not notice all the beautiful things passing by here and now!
Take this what is good from your past, nice feelings above all. Surely there are many of them, sometimes not big ones, but together they can give joy and power :). Focus on your fully experiencing this what is happening NOW :).
