Clarified butter – Ghee butter

Clarified butter is a better product than margarine and most of refined oils!

A unique feature of clarified butter (ghee), which is deprived the milk solids are its medicinal properties, that saturated fats usually lack.

Butter fat is considered to be in Ayurvedic (Indian)  kitchen, as rejuvenating product. Properly prepared it is easily digestible and it strengthens the digestive organs of your system.

Clarified butter can be used for:

  • Stewing,
  • Baking,
  • A food additive
  • Soups,
  • For sandwiches

Clarified butter (ghee) can be purchased at online stores and healthy food stores. Also you can get Mlekovita clarified butter in supermarkets! (but they are in plastic material)

  • 2 To 4 cubes of fresh butter (not salted could be good quality extra butter.
  • Butter cut into tiny pieces, put into the pot in which you will melt butter.
  • To a butter in a pot add cold water, drain, repeat this process until the water will be clear, and thereby the remnants of milk (cream) will flushed out.
  • So you should boil ghee as long as you will not stop to hear “the sound of cooking”, and the water will not evaporate completely.
  • Strain them to a jar by pure linen or cotton cloth or a coffee filter paper.
  • Pass the small amount into a smaller jar.
  • Butter has a long shelf life, do not keep it in the fridge (unless it’s the Mlekivita butter bought in a store)

Traditional Ayurvedic medicine says, however, that eating ghee restores potency and sexual activity, improves wound healing process and increases concentration.
