Ibiza

The Balearics: Majorca, Minorca and the third in size – Ibiza. The last one guarantees warmth, the Sun, romantic corners in seaside towns, exceptional nature and clubbing for funs of discos.

We went on a very short leave to Ibiza with a group of our friends. Although we were there only for a few days, I brought back a lot of memories. When you are in Ibiza, there is a lot to visit, I must say.

Nature

Ibiza is an island with limestone hills overgrown with pine woods. Here you can find almond orchards, olive groves and plenty of fig trees. The coastline of Ibiza is varied, in some places descending steeply into the sea, in others enchanting bays are tempting by sandy beaches. Everything is colourful: the intense blue of the sky and emerald sea contrast with the whiteness of rocks and greenness of vegetation. Thanks to the sea the climate is mild, typically Mediterranean thus rarely stifling, so the heat is bearable. You can run there!

Beaches

They are beautiful, some almost empty, on others tourists are offered a variety of attractions: yachts, Jet Skis, equipment for almost all water sports. I tried a few ones with better or worse results, the fun is amazing 🙂 But still I was glad that I had taken TRX bands: you can exercise with them even on a yacht 🙂

Architecture

Ibiza is history and modernity in one. Ancient old towns (the history of the Dalt Vila dates back to the beginning of 14th century) with stone streets create a very romantic atmosphere. You can visit archeological sites with ancient historians at work. Near there are state-of-the-art discos and clubs offering their attractions because Ibiza aims at attracting young tourists who are looking for fun.

People

Fifty per cent of residents are foreigners. Tourists from all over the world come to Ibiza in the season. It is colourful, humming and joyful there. Ibiza has its eccentric personages like Parish Lee and Pippi Sol (a town legend says that there are ashes of her husband hidden in the bear). You can occasionally see: Justin Bieber, Orlando Bloom, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Hanks, Paris Hilton, Puff Daddy, Kylie Minogue, Madonna, Naomi Campbell, Christiano Ronaldo, Neymar and other footballers 🙂

Cuisine

Of course I scoured the local shops with food, markets, restaurants and cafes. I was looking for new tastes, because the Mediterranean cuisine is exceptionally healthy: plenty of fruit, vegetables and all the seafood offered by the sea! I ate morena bamba (ESPARDEÑAS) in Es Torrents restaurant (another name of morena bamba is Trepang) – delicious! I recommend the following restaurants and other places: Passion – healthy salads with quinoa, Blue Marlin, Pacha, Ushuaia, Destino – SPA, the Hacienda Na Xamena. I was also cooking myself, it was hard to resist doing my own dishes since I could buy fresh fish from fishermen, and there were so many wonderful products on the market!

Magic

A few hundred meters off-shore Ibiza you can see a spot surrounded by legends – Es Vedra island. This tiny and rocky place is regarded to be one of the most mysterious places in the world. There are a lot of stories circulating about it, for example related to mythical Atlantis, the Apocalypse or… UFO. This little island has been in focus for hundreds of years due to its incredible properties. It is surprising but this piece of land is the third place in the world in terms of the magnetic field strength! The reason for that is a high iron content. Compasses, electrical devices or mobile phones literally go crazy nearby Es Vedra. Those mysterious properties of the island made people call it “Magic Island” and there are plenty of myths about it (citing wp.pl portal). In fact, you can feel incredible energy there!

Happy holidays!!!!!!!!!!!
