Self-Acceptance
Do you know what the self-esteem is? However, it is difficult to develop it if we do not accept ourselves, our strengths and weaknesses. But how can we achieve it? First, you need to understand yourself, your emotions, goals, and dreams! ?
The first step to acceptance is to discover your inner self.
Do you ever wonder what you feel? Many people find it difficult to identify their emotions and instead suppress their feelings, both negative and positive ones. This can lead to many problems. We shouldn’t be afraid to show anger or joy! We are just humans. It certainly has to be done in a controlled manner, but this externalization allows you to feel some relief, helps you put away the bad feelings and move on. Crying, screaming, breathing exercises, a harder workout, painting… The options are endless so choose your own method to deal with strong, negative emotions on a regular basis. Suppressing them is never good and sooner or later you will feel the need to externalize them. But then you may not be able to control them anymore.
Can you describe yourself? Which character traits describe you best? How well do you know yourself? I encourage you to briefly reflect on this subject. This helps us see ourselves from a new perspective: realize what we should work on, and what is worth appreciating and caring for. ? It’s not about pointing out your flaws, but looking at yourself in an honest and objective way: what am I…?
The second step is to accept change.
The events we participate in shape us and allow us to gain experience. We acquire new skills, gain knowledge, and learn all the time. Each day is actually a new page of the book of our life. We are changeable and we will be, but this should not affect how we view ourselves. We have the right to react to the situations that happen to us. Let our emotions come to the fore, let ourselves experience what we have to face. This also applies to difficult feelings.
If we accept the feeling of anger, it will be easier for us to accept ourselves. Why am I writing about this?
People who have low self-esteem often experience frustration. To change that, we need to allow ourselves to understand where it comes from. It will be easier for us to deal with difficulties when we accept the emotions they evoke in us and not defend ourselves against them. Only then will we find the strength to overcome them and move forward.
Self-acceptance helps you see reality as it is.
Think about yourself in a positive way, repeat positive statements about yourself. It’s an affirmation that can help you on your way to building self-acceptance.
I love and accept myself as I am – REPEAT THIS SENTENCE 10 times every morning.
I truly believe that you will be able to use these tips and they will help you accept yourself as you are! I keep my fingers crossed for you! ?
