COCONUT WATER – WATER OF LIFE!
As many of you, I like warm countries, the sun and the view of the sea … so if I had to choose future incarnation … it would be a COCONUT 🙂
Tempts with a delicate refreshing taste, and the list of its health properties is very long … My favorite product that can be derived are coconut water coming from the green fruit. It is literally the elixir of life!
It has a composition nearly identical to that of human plasma and in the third world countries even today it is sometimes substitute for blood transfusion. This is an excellent proof of the beneficial properties of coconut water.
I drink it regularly, because as an active athlete I know how important it is to replenish electrolytes lost during exercise. Potassium, magnesium, sodium and calcium are essential for the normal development of the body, especially the nervous and muscular systems, so the perspiration should be complemented by isotonic drinks and coconut water is just one of them.
Regular drinking of coconut water speeds up metabolism and is almost guaranteed to keep great health and well-being.
Why:
- source of vitamin C and the B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6)
- low calorific value
- source of fiber
- antibacterial activity
- regulates blood pressure
- lowers blood sugar and insulin in the blood
- reduces oxidative stress
- a source of cytokines, m. in. kinetin and zeatin, which have antithrombotic activity and antioxidants
- It improves blood circulation and reduces the risk of heart attacks and strokes and atherosclerosis
- helps with digestion
- It works on smoothing the skin and gives the skin young and firm appearance
Although I have not found any studies proving the danger of drinking excessive amounts of coconut water, as a future mother I want to sensitize pregnant women. I met with the opinion of the doctor from Thailand, which recommends the following amounts:
- in 1 trimester – drinking coconut water is not recommended
- in the second trimester – about 100 ml per day (half a cup)
- in the third trimester – as much as you want, for the beauty of the baby 🙂
Danger of “overdose” of coconut water may be due to the large amounts of vitamin C, and magnesium and potassium, which cause diarrhea in excess, and thus dehydration. In addition, coconut water can cause stomach upset and even uterine contraction, which is particularly dangerous when pregnant. (This refers to a very large amount of coconut water)
Products derived from coconut are gaining in popularity, and store shelves simply bend under the weight of flour, lotions, oils, sugar and coconut water. I advise you to carefully read labels, because most of these products loses vitamins and electrolytes in the process of pasteurization , and in addition is artificially sweetened.
In response to your expectations, I can responsibly recommend coconut water of high-quality from Foods by Ann, this water through the process of freeze-drying has retained all the health values.
I send a lot of positive energy!
