Protein Shake

Colorful shakes are a perfect option either before or after your workout. They are easy and you can prepare them in no time. Today I’m serving a banana shake with protein and maca root.

Maca (Lepidum peruvianum) has been grown in South America in the Andes for over 2000 years. It grows at 4000-4500 m above sea level. It belongs to cruciferous plants, like kale, broccoli, cabbage or cauliflower. Dried maca root consists of about 59% carbohydrates, 10% protein, and 8.5% fiber. Fats account for about 2.2% of its composition. Maca is also a good source of calcium, sodium, iron, copper, zinc and vitamins B and C. It has been shown that maca root has a beneficial effect on improving fertility and libido. However, due to its energetic action, it can also be recommended to people who need to put a lot of physical and mental effort in their everyday life.  

 

Preparation:

Blend all the ingredients and that’s it.
