Gotu kola
Yeah, yeah, Lewandowska goes on again about some invention from abroad.
And I do it with full conviction! Gotu kola is a modest little herb with round leaves, which happens to feel best in the tropics. For centuries, it has been used in folk medicine, and also has the blessing of Ayurvedic medicine.
Where does the growing popularity of this herb come from? Now, more and more people realize that it has a beneficial effect on the mind, as it significantly aids concentration and memory. Therefore, it belongs to a group of resources known as “brain food.” It has anxiolytic and antidepressant properties. It quiets you down rather than dulling you, so it is recommended for people working under near-constant mental stress.
Gotu kola contains a group of components supporting the production of collagen. On the cell level, these unique substances maintain the body’s ability to quickly restore the skin to normal and heal various lesions (small wounds, burns, cuts etc.).
This little herb has no effect on blood pressure, but it does strengthen blood vessels and improve circulation.
You can sometimes find it in ointments and creams (e.g., for swelling and varicose veins). For internal use, it comes in capsules, or in a form of infusion powder/dried leaves.
Gotu kola is also known under an equally graceful name: Centella asiatica.
Give Centella asiatica a try!
