Power smoothie with yolks
Today a smoothie with yolks. Yes, egg recipes will be on my blog now 🙂
Not all of them obviously, because lots of people don’t tolerate eggs, and some of them have an allergy to eggs.
Eggs are healthy. They contain almost all the vitamins (except for vitamin C) and minerals we need (magnesium, sodium, potassium). Yolks of eggs contain choline, which is essential for all cells in the human body. Remember that positive data concern only the eggs from organic farms. Most producers feed hens with antibiotics and hormones. Eggs from such farms have a completely different composition e.g. they contain considerably more Omega-6 acids, which affects the proportion of Omega-3 acids. Buy wisely.
It’s good to have raw eggs – the process of boiling changes the amino acid profile and curdled scrambled eggs oxidize cholesterol. It’s best to boil an egg soft or have a poached egg, you can have scrambled eggs but not with a curdled yolk. The worst choice possible is to eat whites alone, because the yolk contains components that are necessary to digest proteins.
How to store eggs? Not necessarily in the fridge. If we’re going to eat them in a short time of course.
How to check if eggs are fresh? You may roll them on the table top – if they are rocking, it means they are fresh. If an egg sinks in a bowl of water, it means it’s fresh. The yolk should be bulging after breaking, difficult to be pierced with a fork.
Unfortunately, eggs are one of the products that are most often the cause of allergies, maybe this is because they are subject to chemical processing oxidizing proteins. Protein intolerance may be triggered by too many eggs in your diet, especially those served as scrambled eggs.
Moderation is the key!
Wash and peel the fruit. Blend all the ingredients together.
