Autumn often is associated with tissues in each pocket. Viruses circulate around us, and coughing and sniffing are the most common symptoms of decreased immunity. If we do not protect ourselves well in the winter, then it will be a really difficult period for us.

I have something special for you! Proven and effective ACEROLA!

This acidic fruit resembling a cherry comes from Central America. Acerola became famous as a natural remedy for anemia, chicken pox, liver and lung ailments as well as  problems with the digestive system such as dysentery, diarrhea and others. It was most often used to support the immune system and counteract the symptoms of colds, due to the strong antibacterial effect.

Acerola has innumerable properties, but the most valuable is the richness of vitamin C, we wont be able to get this much of C vitamins from kilogram of lemons or other available vegetables and fruits.

Vitamin C is the guardian of our immunity and a powerful antioxidant that supports the circulatory system, and therefore it is helping in the prevention of atherosclerosis, stroke and is lowering blood pressure. She is also credited for the contribution to the fight against cancer and strong bones and joints.

Additionally, it helps with:

  • assimilation of proteins and fats
  • absorption of carbohydrates
  • absorption of iron
  • cellular breathing
  • removing toxins from the body
  • obtaining oxidized vitamin E
  • folic acid synthesis

Acerola, in addition to the above-mentioned vitamin C, it also contains provitamin A, vitamin K and E and B vitamins, riboflavin, thiamine, niacin, pyridoxine, folic acid, calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, sodium, zinc and potassium, and flavonoids, which inhibit the breakdown of vitamin C, increasing its absorption. The presence of carotenoids and anthocyanins is supporting the fight against oxidative stress by combating free radicals and additionally provides us with good vision and healthy cardiovascular system and has anti-inflammatory and antiallergic effects.
We are not done yet! Acerola is a source of quercetin, which has a strong antiallergic effect. In this small fruit you will also find protein, fat and carbohydrates.

As mentioned above, the fruits of acerola were excellent in traditional medicine during the treatment of fevers, dysentery, diarrhea and liver diseases. Thanks to these properties, it has conquered the pharmaceutical world and is used for the production of cold tablets and immune capsules. This fruit has also quickly found application in cosmetics, mainly due to the beta-carotene content, which supports acne treatment and delays the appearance of wrinkles, and vitamin C additionally seals the blood vessels. Extracts from acerola are often used for the production of  creams and face masks. In the food industry, this fruit is used for the production of juices, jellies, jams or fruit desserts.
