Well-being – Our Inner Harmony

According to the report “The growing importance of health and the eating habits of Poles. SuperMenu 2021”, the pandemic has had a negative impact on our everyday life, and 38% of respondents claimed it has also affected their mental comfort. The introduction of restrictions, impeded contact with friends, the closure of sports facilities, as well as the fear of falling ill contributed to the feeling of chronic stress and anxiety. In order to restore the psychophysical balance and well-being, it is worth looking for effective solutions to achieve harmony in our everyday life. Therefore, I would like to share some of my methods with you in this post.

Many of you wrote that as a result of the pandemic, you began to feel the need to take care of your health and improve the quality of life. And it is not only about the material aspect, but most of all about well-being, both in private and professional life. That is why the well-being trend, although it has been popular for years, has recently gained great importance in Poland.

The concept of well-being includes feeling satisfied with life, effectively coping with stress, and realizing one’s own potential. It is an approach similar to the philosophy of healthy life based on three pillars: healthy eating, physical activity and psychophysical balance, which I follow in my everyday life. Thanks to it, I can take care of my body in a holistic way and feel well-being in all areas of my life. That’s why I encourage you to take care of all these aspects.

First: healthy eating habits

Many people began to eat more food than usual as a result of stress. Snacking is one of the most common ways to relieve nervous tension. According to the report “The growing importance of health and the eating habits of Poles. SuperMenu 2021”, as a result of the pandemic, eating habits of as many as 64% of us have changed for the worse. The negative impact on well-being and the emergence of chronic stress was caused by anxiety related to fear for family, fear of losing a job, sadness resulting from not being able to meet friends. Unexpected circumstances have led to more frequent use of unhealthy snacks between meals, consumed by as many as 89% of us. Although the report shows that fruits and vegetables are most common (73%), a large group choose unhealthy foods in the form of sweets (53%), crisps (29%) and chocolate (21%).

A good way to develop proper eating habits is to use the SuperMenu dietary catering offer which helps you eat a balanced diet on a regular basis. It’s worth remembering that we were the first to eliminate white sugar, raw milk and wheat from meals. The full range of available variants to choose from can be found on the website HERE

Second: physical activity to improve your well-being

Taking care of the health and good condition of our body has recently gained special importance. As our report showed, the factors that affect the general condition of the body include: quality sleep (80% of respondents), avoiding stress (74%), the right amount of exercise (74%) and a proper diet (63%). Achieving a balance in these areas translates into a sense of well-being and motivation to act not only in everyday life, but also at work. Thanks to this, I am motivated and full of willingness to act.

I always emphasize it – exercise is healthy. Therefore, the right amount of physical activity in any form, including walking in the park, cycling or training at home, also positively affects well-being. According to the report “The growing importance of health and the eating habits of Poles. SuperMenu 2021”, 59% of us declare that they have undertaken physical activity during the pandemic. According to half of the respondents, it is a great way to improve their well-being, and 43% treat movement as an excellent form of stress relief.

Remember that according to the WHO, regular physical activity can prevent many heart diseases, type 2 diabetes and cancer. It also relieves symptoms of depression and anxiety, and has a positive effect on thinking processes. For adults, 150–300 minutes of exercise per week is recommended for moderate-intensity exercise, or 75–150 minutes for high-intensity activity.

Third: regaining balance is the key to well-being

To maintain health and well-being, psychophysical balance is just as important as proper nutrition and an adequate amount of physical activity. As shown in the report “The growing importance of health and the eating habits of Poles. SuperMenu 2021”, 38% of us believe the pandemic negatively affected our mental state, including our general mood, feeling stressed, and sleep quality. That is why it is so important to take care of the right amount of rest, exercise, introduce healthy eating habits and try to avoid stress.

Thanks to small steps taken every day in the pursuit of psychophysical balance, we are able to achieve well-being, which translates into good mood and satisfaction with both private and professional life.
