What exactly is self-esteem?

My blog is not only about nutrition and health, but you’ll also find motivational articles there. Today I have prepared a text for you which may be short but the content is very important. There is a lot of talk about self-esteem but do we really know what it is? Consider it especially now in our #FighterSummerChallenge. Remember that the inner strength is as important as the physical one. Let’s approach health issues holistically 🙂

Have you ever wondered how it affects our lives?

We build our self-esteem from the very start through the parent-child relationship. The people around us also affect it: peers at school, colleagues from work, closest friends. We are judged, we find out who we are, we build our own inner image. Parents who have listened to us, shown us support, love and understanding, have certainly contributed to the wonderful image we have of ourselves. However, we must be aware that this isn’t always the case. We grow up in different homes and environments. Not everyone gets as much support as they need. All of this can easily destroy self-esteem.

Growing up, we meet many people who judge us. Even if our self-esteem has a solid foundation, it can still be negatively affected. School, partner, employer… We are constantly assessed and criticized every day! Think about it next time you want to criticize someone. Do we see things objectively? Will we not destroy someone’s self-esteem? Do we have the right to give opinions without a broader perspective?

We should try to express our opinions in the way we would like to hear them ourselves. Advice or suggestion given in the right way can be motivating for the other person, it may encourage  personal development! Words are really powerful, so it’s always worth thinking carefully before we decide to speak ?

TO HAVE A HIGH SELF-ESTEEM IS… TO BE EMOTIONALLY FREE!

We should try to manage our emotions the right way. Don’t depend on opinions, on whether someone will criticize or praise us, dislike us or not. Accept wise advice, but don’t let someone else’s advice limit you. We should always be guided by what we believe to be good and right, and not by the things that only bring us temporary recognition. There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism, as long as it is properly expressed. We all need some good changes because it’s often hard to spot your own mistakes. However, we must learn to approach each comment or opinion from some perspective, think about our feelings. Is the author of the comment right?

TAKE CARE OF YOUR FREEDOM OF ACTION AND INNER PEACE! More posts on this topic are soon to come ?
