7 Ways to Start Protecting the Environment
Environmental protection has become much more important in times of rapid civilization development. People too often have a destructive impact on the planet, and many experts emphasize that this is the last call to change something and save our environment. As a mother, I have started to act more consciously in this direction, because I would like my children to feel good on our planet. Today I will show you how I’ve been trying to introduce small but important changes for the environment 🙂

Reducing food waste
It is horrifying when you realize how many tons of food are wasted in our homes each day. Unfortunately, we keep buying more without thinking whether we really need it. My solution to deal with the problem is planning! Before going to the store I always prepare a shopping list so I know exactly what I want to buy and how much, thus no product is wasted. If you use my Diet & Training by Ann application, you can generate a ready-made shopping list with the necessary amount of ingredients in just a few seconds which prevents buying an excessive amount of food. However, if there are leftovers after lunch or dinner, I always try to be creative by preparing completely new dishes, so that the food does not end up in the garbage can.
2. Shopping with your own bag
Grocery stores generate huge amounts of plastic bags in which we pack the purchased products. They are often used only once and then discarded. Unfortunately, this material takes up to 1000 years to decompose, which is why it leads to huge contamination of our planet for a long time. For this reason, I always have my own fabric bag with me and I keep it right next to the exit door so I never forget about it 🙂
3. Reusable produce bags
When shopping in a grocery store or local market, I always ask the seller to throw larger products, such as cauliflower or broccoli, straight into my bag. On the other hand, I pack small fruits and vegetables, for example cherry tomatoes, in reusable cloth bags, and this way I avoid using plastic bags, and I would need a lot of them for a single visit to the store.
4. Waste sorting
I have been sorting our waste for a long time. And I do it not only at home, but also when I’m out in the city, when I visit friends or wherever it is possible to separate paper from glass, plastic, and organic waste. I also teach my children to segregate so that it becomes completely natural for them not to throw everything into one garbage can.
5. Saving energy and water
Another habit that I make my whole family follow is turning off the light every time we leave the room. I use daylight whenever possible as it is not only better for the environment but also healthier for the eyes. What’s more, it is also vital to save water, e.g. by closing the tap while brushing your teeth and adults and kids alike should remember to do it 🙂
6. Respect for nature
I try to care for nature by taking small steps every day and introducing positive changes in my projects. Together with my team, we make sure that the packaging of Phlov cosmetics is made of recyclable materials: glass, BIO-PET and sugar cane. At SuperMenu, we cooperate with a producer of completely ecological me.Organic trays, which are 100% compostable. Moreover, when we recently released a box with lifetime access to the Diet & Training by Ann app, we made sure that each purchase was followed by planting a tree, and that the packaging was made of paper pulp, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), containing wood material from responsibly managed forests and sawmills.
7. Educating and inspiring others
The future of our planet depends on how many people are involved in environmental protection activities. The easiest way to start with your loved ones is by setting a good example, like cleaning up after yourself in the forest, park or at a picnic. I’m sure the kids will soon start emulating your actions. 😉
Summary
As you can see, these simple actions are a really good start and I hope I encouraged you to make your life greener. Our daily choices do add up and bring good results! Let’s share our knowledge with family, friends and relatives, and the chances of improving the condition of our planet will be even greater. Do you also try to care for the environment? Maybe this is one of your New Year’s resolutions?
