Coronavirus – Boost Your Immunity

Strengthen your immunity in every possible way.

Our immune system must be stronger than the virus now! Try not to cause unnecessary fear because everyone has a different resistance to stress and some might worry every day what tomorrow will bring. Focus on strengthening your immune system! But how?

THINK POSITIVE AND APPRECIATE THE PRESENT MOMENT!

Focus on :

  • good attitude,
  • stress control,
  • smile – smile to everyone around,
  • appreciate the HEROES who are now working hard for us all,
  • find balance – everyone is different and manages stress and fear in different ways.

Yes, all these things boost your immunity 🙂

Despite the uncertain situation, an optimistic attitude is key. As you see, we are not always able to control what’s going on around us but we can decide what our reaction to it will be and we do it for our own health.

Yesterday I had a bad day… I burst into tears asking myself…

WHEN DOES IT ALL END?

IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL YEAR!

THIS MUST BE A BAD DREAM AND WE WILL WAKE UP TOMORROW…

I SAID: ENOUGH! Why can’t this year be special?! I sat down and wrote my plan for the time when we come back to normal.

Nothing will ever be the same … but did anyone say it can’t be better? It’s all up to us!

Of course, everyone feels uncertainty and horror thinking about what will happen to the economy. Believe me, as a person who runs several businesses, I also have the same concerns.

Why am I thinking now what it will be like when we go out for a walk again? When we go visit the family, see friends, go out for a quiet dinner? When we go shopping for groceries… or when our everyday life, so unappreciated, comes back to normal?

How unique and beautiful this meeting with family and friends will be! When children meet their friends again in kindergarten or school again… When we see people in cafes … When we see running, laughing families having fun in the playgrounds…

What is happening now will soon become just a memory, think about how much we will be able to do. I believe that we will learn to appreciate the small things that we have forgotten about in our everyday rush, we will be able to appreciate… LIFE.

This time should be a lesson for us to see what the MOST IMPORTANT things in life are!

I would like us to focus now on the main points of strengthening our bodies.

POSITIVE THINKING – DEALING WITH STRESS

The correlation between health and stress is a rather complicated issue. However, probably all of you had the opportunity to experience its effects on your own. Disorders of the nervous system affect the action of hormones, and they in turn affect the immune system. Just like a chain reaction. How can we return to balance? Researchers say that a healthy mind translates into a healthy body. In our society, stress is responsible for the development of a significant number of diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disease. That is why it is worth finding ways to deal with stress and to vent negative emotions. The most common ways include regular physical activity, having a hobby, contact with animals and nature, or religion and meditation. Now think what you can do for yourself in this respect.

HEALTHY DIET

The human body needs balance so that the whole body and each of its cells can function properly. As a result our immune system can work efficiently, and is in this way protected against the intrusion of bacteria, viruses or pathogenic fungi. The supply of vitamins and minerals allows the proper functioning of the immune system. I’ve been trying to raise this issue in my BOOST YOUR HEALTH campaign. The very use of seemingly unimportant spices or choosing the right products for each meal during the day ARE OF GREAT IMPORTANCE TO YOUR HEALTH!

APPROPRIATE SUPPLEMENTATION AND PROBIOTIC THERAPY

Food can provide you with a lot of beneficial nutrients. However, due to the different condition of our bodies or special circumstances, it may not be enough. Dietary supplements and probiotics can come in handy here. The subject of probiotic therapy was described in detail by dr Patrycja Szachta in her article. What I want to remind you here is the fact that your intestinal microflora has a great impact on the proper functioning of the immune system. Choosing the right probiotic should be just as careful as selecting dietary supplements. Before buying, I recommend consulting a doctor or trusted pharmacist. Omega-3 acids, vitamin D, or vitamin C will certainly provide good support for the body. Remember about adaptogens in stressful times Ashwagandha, Schisandra, Gotu Kola, Rhodiola etc (I wrote about them on the blog e.g. HERE). They help adapt the body to current conditions, and also have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects (you can buy them in the Foods by Ann store).

ANTIOXIDANTS

I’ve mentioned the importance of supplementation and probiotics, which have their positive effect on supporting the body’s immunity. I’ve also written about the food we eat. Apart from vitamins and minerals, it is a valuable source of antioxidants which you find e.g. in superfoods. Their main task is to defend cells against free radicals, which excessively weaken the body, leading to a decrease in its immunity. Where can you find them? Mainly in vegetables and fruits, as well as nuts or seeds. Dried herbs and spices also have high antioxidant potential. It is recommended that every meal you have should contain a vegetable or fruit. During the day we should have 4 to 5 portions of them. Antioxidants are also found in bell peppers, tomatoes, beets, blackcurrant, chokeberry. Remember to keep your meals diverse and colorful, as this will provide a whole range of valuable nutrients to your body.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

We should begin with this sentence: moderate physical activity strengthens the body’s immunity.

Studies show that doing sports strengthens the immune system by reducing susceptibility to pathogens and accelerating responses to reduce inflammation.

It turns out that moderate aerobic training (aerobic, i.e. walking, cycling, running) which is not longer than 60 minutes affects the more efficient distribution of anti-inflammatory factors throughout the body. Please remember that moderation is extremely important here, and overtraining and lack of regeneration will have the opposite effect on your condition.

SLEEP

Sleep is a time when your body can regenerate. You definitely shouldn’t underestimate this. Studies show that sleep deprivation directly increases the chance of catching an infection or illness. Why? Too short regeneration period reduces the number of white blood cells, which are the body’s defense against pathogens. Have you ever noticed it? Hard time at work or personal life and then burning the candle at both ends? And as a result your susceptibility to illness increased? Exactly! Find balance and the right amount of sleep that will allow your body to gather strength for the next day.

BREATHING, MEDITATION, PRAYER

Proper breath, meditation or prayer are one of the most common methods of coping with stress, which I mentioned above. In addition, meditation and prayer are really a way of life. And what is all this meditation about? The main premise is to clear your mind, “turn off thinking,” so you have a break from all kinds of external stimuli. This helps you see many difficult situations from a different perspective. Not everyone appreciates meditation, but scientific research confirms its beneficial effect on the human body by reducing susceptibility to depression and insomnia, or simply lowering blood pressure.

HYGIENE

I guess everyone here already knows why washing hands and personal hygiene is important, especially during periods of increased exposure to infection. I wrote more about washing hands HERE. Just a  brief reminder: even if your hands are visually clean, there are really a lot of germs and bacteria on them. Therefore, pay special attention to washing them regularly, both after leaving the toilet and after returning from the store or work. Keep in mind and take it seriously that it is worth using a hand disinfectant, especially outside. This is the easiest and cheapest way to consciously protect you and your loved ones from infection.

SUPPORT

This word, or rather the actions that follow have enormous power. You should always support each other, especially in tough times. At present, we can see everywhere how totally strange people selflessly help others. All this contributes to the fact that both those giving help and those in need feel better. The level of bad stress decreases in their lives. Smile at each other, be thoughtful in your actions. Remember that THE GOOD YOU DO COMES BACK TO YOU!

As you can see, you can do a lot 🙂

I wish you a lot of health and peace of mind!

Let’s make good use of the time we now have and draw thoughtful conclusions from it.
