Golden Porridge

Chronic fatigue?

No energy?

Autumn anxiety?

Discomfort?

More frequent infections?

We are living organisms and should remember to take care of our health!

I always say that at such times it’s vital to pay special attention to nutrients in our diet. It should contain lots of antioxidants which fight oxidative stress. Remember that oxidative stress is involved in many diseases and contributes to faster aging.

My recipes for autumn are full of ingredients such as:

Turmeric – as its healing properties are mainly due to high content of antioxidant substances. Extracts of this spice suppress inflammation, reduce oxidative stress, support the immune system and show antibacterial properties. Turmeric also helps improve blood lipid profile, levels cholesterol, makes tissues more sensitive to insulin and lowers blood pressure.

• Oat flakes – they contain large amounts of B vitamins and vitamin E. They are also a good source of minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc and copper. What’s more, they’re rich in dietary fiber that improves bowel function and helps in the fight against constipation. Having oatmeal on a regular basis helps to normalize cholesterol and blood glucose levels.

Cinnamon – it improves digestion, stimulates the secretion of bile and digestive juices, helps with flatulence, diarrhea, heartburn and ulcers. The active ingredients contained in cinnamon have antibacterial properties which are used to treat diseases, e.g. colds.

Cardamom, which, apart from its other beneficial properties, strengthens our immunity. Its anti-inflammatory and bactericidal properties protect us (like cinnamon) against colds. This spice also has a positive effect on the digestive system by accelerating metabolism and prevents bloating or heartburn.

Preparation:

I soaked the oat flakes in warm water overnight and cooked them in the morning with plant-based milk. Then I seasoned them with spices. Next, I stirred in chopped dates and a mashed banana, as well as a teaspoonful of honey and ghee. I decorated the porridge with almonds.

How about my golden latte? Have you tried it?
