Respect Nature

Nature gives us life.

Trees all around, birds singing and insects buzzing: that’s our everyday life.

Even if we live in a concrete jungle, we go past some green parks every day.

We pass them by indifferently because it seems to us they will last forever.

What if we’re wrong?

Our civilization is completely dominated by consumerism. We use up everything Mother Nature has given us access to…

More and more often we do it thoughtlessly…

We lead hectic lives, work in cities and look forward to the long-awaited holidays surrounded by nature.

It’s not so easy… Beaches that used to be wild and almost empty are now filled with hotels. It’s hard to find a quiet place away from the crowd. How about swimming with dolphins? Many of us had the opportunity to experience this. Once there used to be one boat and a pod of dolphins swimming around, now there’s one dolphin and a group of boats…

The world is rushing forward and nothing can stop it,  but we can help Mother Nature and alleviate the negative effects of these changes. Even small steps of every human being can add up to a huge leap forward.

We can hear more and more often about contamination, air pollution and inevitable destruction of our planet. Plastic is omnipresent in all landscapes.

What can we do?

  • Go shopping with your reusable linen bag, try to avoid buying single-use plastic bags.
  • Try to choose glass bottles over plastic ones.
  • Don’t use plastic straws.
  • If possible, ride a bike instead of driving.
  • Sort rubbish.
  • Turn off the water and switch off the light.

And in a spare moment…

Admire the miracle of nature, the first butterfly you see this spring, a bee collecting pollen from flowers and the sound of leaves fluttering in the wind.

Mother Nature is a miracle that is above man’s abilities.

Take a deep breath and think you are part of this world…

Don’t let it be destroyed.

It’s not too late.

You can also make a difference…

Organizations that work for environmental protection

Finally, it’s worth mentioning conservation organizations. Below you will find some of them:

  • WWF – their mission is to stop environmental degradation and to care for the harmony between man and nature.
  • Greenpeace – it’s an international NGO which focuses on environmental protection. It deals with the most important global threats to biodiversity and environment.
  • Gaia Club (Klub Gaja) – one of the oldest independent NGOs which deals with conservation and animal rights in Poland.
  • Nature Conservation League (Liga Ochrony Przyrody) – their main task is to sensitize people, especially the youth, to the richness and beauty of nature.
  • Society for the Earth (Towarzystwo na Rzecz Ziemi) – it is a nationwide organization working for the preservation, protection and restoration of the natural heritage and protection of health and life of people against the harmful effects of pollution.
  • Polish Ecological Club (Polski Klub Ekologiczny) – its aim is to spread the idea of eco-development and education in matters related to environmental protection.
