Spicy celery

Celery is a friend of our body. It cleanses our body, stimulates digestion, lowers blood pressure, helps in losing weight and has a positive influence on our complexion.

We can eat it raw (it’s crunchy!) or make refreshing drinks adding, for example, apples to it. It is great in salads and adds flavor to dishes served warm. On my blog today – spicy celery.

I washed the celery thoroughly and steamed until it got soft. In a big frying pan I heated oil over medium heat and stewed garlic a while. I added cut tomatoes, parsley, and then sugar, salt and pepper. I mixed it all thoroughly. If the tomatoes are blanched before and then peeled, they will better combine with the rest of the vegetables. I added celery and red pepper, stewed for a few minutes. I served it with quinoa, but it can be served with wild rice as well.
