Check Out the #SoFlow Ritual for Good Sleep!
You know that I often talk about how to take care of sleep hygiene, what techniques and gadgets I use in this respect. Healthy sleep is just as important to me as regular physical activity and a healthy diet. It’s a huge topic for me so together with my Phlov brand we have prepared a special #SoFlow guide for you – a guide for a good night’s sleep. Get to know my rituals, which, in combination with Phlov products, help me fall asleep peacefully 🙂
What is SoFlow about?
The SoFlow ritual is a list of my habits that we want to share with you so that you can improve the quality of your sleep. It’s no secret that our body regenerates best at night. We sleep almost 1/3 of our lives. We should really take care of that. After all, everyone would like to wake up refreshed and full of energy in the morning.
That’s why I collected a handful of tips that will help you welcome spring (and any other season) with joy, and after a good night’s sleep. You will quickly see the results in the condition of your skin.
Start with some time for yourself
It is crucial – we cannot relax and unwind before going to bed if we are not able to find a moment for ourselves. The evening is a time when it is especially important because going to bed with your head full of problems and stress results in a restless night and a difficult morning.
I begin my #SoFlow with evening care which I’m going to show you now. I hope these will be useful tips for you to simply relax.
Evening care in the spirit of SoFlow
The first step: facial cleansing. This is the most important part. Without it, no further steps can be taken. Removing makeup and impurities of the day not only allows the skin to breathe, but also symbolically removes problems and stresses that may have bothered me that day.
If my skin is in good condition, I use Clean’em All Gel from Phlov. It even copes with makeup, and at the same time refreshes and nourishes the face. Sometimes, however, I have the impression that my skin lacks something, it is irritated, tense or dry – then I use Absolute Pure(ness) foam instead. It is just as effective but milder, full of prebiotics and probiotics that help rebuild the skin’s healthy microflora.
After cleansing and drying my face (remember to use a separate towel, especially if you have acne-prone skin!) I reach for the pink quartz roller. My favorite one is the Diamond Roll, but feel free to use the one that suits you best. A gentle massage will oxygenate the skin and improve microcirculation. But it’s also a great moment to feel #SoFlow – relax for a moment and focus only on the movements of the stone over your skin.
The face roller massage is of course best performed with a serum, booster or oil. Recently, we have introduced a complete novelty to the Phlov offer: the Newborn Star rejuvenating booster with bakuchiol and vitamin C, which is why I started using it for massage. You can see the effects instantly. It nourishes the skin and evens out its tone, but most of all it firms and helps to eliminate wrinkles both those that had already been there and those that may have appeared recently.
At the end of the care ritual in the spirit of SoFlow, I use a night cream – it is the second product of the new Phlov rejuvenating line – Kisses From The Moon. It facilitates skin regeneration, but also restores its proper circadian rhythm, thanks to which the reconstruction at night is exactly as effective as it should be. I know that it will make my face look radiant and healthy in the morning.
Home Spa
If you have more time, e.g. during the weekend or on a day off, I recommend finding some time for a small home spa. Relaxing music is the first step. The second is a bathtub full of hot water. In addition, we can light a soybean scented candle and here Phlov also offers an extremely interesting selection of aromas. Finally, a bath bomb and that’s it! Immersing yourself in warm water for 15-20 minutes brings you deep relaxation, relaxes your muscles and helps you to zen out.
Before going to sleep
Once you’ve pampered your skin, it is just as important to take care of your mind. Calmness is extremely important because a mind full of anxious thoughts makes it difficult for us to fall asleep. And even if we succeed, we will sleep very restlessly. Before falling asleep, I try to do some breathing exercises or meditate. I also turn on relaxing, calming sounds – I use those that you can find in my application HERE (the Balance option). It is important to have some peace and quiet around. No TV, kids playing or cooking dinner. For this step to be effective, we only need to focus on ourselves.
I most often use this method to recall everything that I’ve managed to achieve that day, what made me happy and what I am grateful for. Not only does it cheer me up, but it also puts me in a positive mood for the next day and allows me to go to sleep with the feeling of a day well-spent!
If you don’t like meditation, a book is just as good an idea. Something light, fairly cheerful or reflective – it’s better to avoid horror stories and thrillers because they can unnecessarily increase our blood pressure before going to bed. Parents of small children can also find peace during the evening while reading books together with their kids. It is however important to avoid staring at the screens – be it TV, telephone or laptop. Blue light not only irritates the eyes in the long run, but also postpones falling asleep because it stimulates the body.
And that’s it, the SoFlow ritual before falling asleep in all its glory. Remember – it looks like a lot of reading but in practice it takes no more than 20-30 minutes. Have a peaceful night and beautiful dreams!
