Young Cabbage Rolls with Potato Puree

Cabbage rolls with potato puree as traditional home-made lunch is something I adore! ? It might seem time-consuming but preparing such lunch does not take long. You only have to blanch the delicate leaves of young cabbage in boiling water, thanks to which we can easily roll them with the filling inside. I also encourage you to prepare the dish together with kids as it’s a great way to learn through play ?

 

Preparation:

Rolls: I minced the meat. Next I chopped the onion and fried it on hot oil. I added the meat and seasoned it with salt and pepper. I put the filling on blanched leaves and rolled them. 

Puree: I cooked the potatoes in water with a pinch of salt, then I drained them, added the butter, milk, and mashed into smooth puree.

Tomato sauce: I chopped the onion and the garlic, fried them in hot oil. Next I added chopped tomatoes, water and spices. I stewed the sauce until it got thick.

I poured the cabbage rolls with tomato sauce and served them with puree. I sprinkle it all with chopped dill 🙂
