A Simple Breakfast. Oat Flakes Prepared the Right Way

I wrote here why eating oat flakes is good for you. Did you know that you should soak them overnight? Thanks to this procedure, oat flakes increase in volume, which makes them more filling. It is also a good way to deprive them of anti-nutritive compounds called phytates which hinder the absorption of minerals.

 

Preparation:

I soaked the oat flakes in water overnight. In the morning I cooked them in water and added the almond drink, flaxseed (you can substitute it with psyllium husk powder). I decorated the oatmeal with fresh fruit and that’s it. Easy, isn’t it?
