What is it about?

The rules of the DASH diet largely coincide with the recommendations of the Mediterranean diet, which you have probably heard of. The basis of the diet are low-processed food products as well as:

  • vegetables and fruits – which provide vitamins, minerals and flavonoids;
  • vegetable protein – legumes, seeds and nuts;
  • fish – the source of valuable omega-3 fatty acids;
  • foods rich in potassium, magnesium, and calcium (e.g., low-fat dairy products);
  • products that provide poly- and monounsaturated fatty acids (nuts, seeds, avocados, vegetable oils).

 

The things you won’t find in the DASH diet

We have completely abandoned the addition of table salt to dishes, the excess of which adversely affects the cardiovascular system and is a common problem in society. Instead, we enriched our dishes with the addition of spices and fresh herbs that have a health-promoting effect.

We have also reduced the amount of red meat (due to the high content of saturated fatty acids) and carbohydrates with a high glycemic index. In addition, our diet does not contain: wheat products, sugar, raw cow’s milk, processed products and those that contain trans fats.
