Fruit mousse with chia seeds

There are some days when you totally have no idea what to make for breakfast. There are also days when you know what to make, but you really don’t have appetite to do it. On such days I recommend a quick fruit mousse with chia seeds.

Chia seeds are an excellent source of alpha-linolenic acid, which is a precursor of other omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 helps to maintain good cholesterol level, lower the risk of hypertenstion, has anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties. Chia seeds are a good source of antioxidants that have positive effects on our health. We can also find there chlorogenic acid which inhance insulin sensitivity, caffeic acid and quercetin, kemferol, mirycetin which have anticancer properties. Chia seeds are high in calcium and that’s why they are a good souce of this mineral in non-diary diet. Due to the high content of soluble fiber, chia seeds support the function of the digestive system.

Preparation:

Mix bananas and blueberries with chia seeds. Add blackcurrant juice and sprinkle with toppings – grated chocolate and raspberries. For coconut maniacs, I recommend to servingthe  mousse as in the picture 😉
