Intermittent Fasting

Have you ever heard of Intermittent Fasting (IF)? It is an increasingly popular diet that I’ve decided to try out.Today I would like to tell you a bit more about this idea and also share my personal experience with it. What’s more, you can find IF diet in my SuperMenu catering! ?

 

IF – what is it about?

IF, or intermittent fasting, simply consists in alternating fasting periods with the so-called eating windows. During the eating window we eat wholesome meals with calorific value adjusted to our individual needs while for the rest of the time we refrain from eating any food.

There are various time frames but the most commonly used is 16/8 (16-hour fasting and 8-hour eating window), but some choose, for example: 18/6 or 20/4. The choice is yours and you should adjust the time of eating meals to your own lifestyle.

What are the possible benefits of IF?

It has been shown intermittent fasting done the right way can have numerous positive effects on the body, including:

  • Reduction of body fat content, and consequently improvement of metabolic parameters and reduction of excess body weight;

  • Reducing the risk of metabolic syndrome (hypertension, obesity, atherosclerosis, type 2 diabetes);

  • Reduction of inflammation in the body, which is the underlying cause of many diseases.
