Spring Clean Your Diet

The days have been getting warmer and warmer and spring has finally come. This is a good time to clean up, not only in our homes. Why so? I’ve been getting more and more messages from you asking how to quickly change your eating habits and get in shape to prepare for the start of the season. Unfortunately, there is no single magic solution and everything takes time. Therefore, just as we prepare our home or wardrobe to welcome spring, I also encourage you to take care of your body.

The autumn-winter period is a time when it gets colder outside, the days are shorter which makes us feel tired, sleepy, we don’t feel like doing anything. Our body and psychophysical condition are weakened. Therefore, when March comes and we feel the first breath of spring, we slowly begin to wake up from our winter sleep. This is a good time to change. You often ask me for advice on how to go about such spring cleaning in our body? You would like to eat healthier but you lack time to shop, cook, and often you just don’t know what exactly and in what amounts you should eat to achieve the desired results. Don’t worry, fortunately you don’t need specialist knowledge to start making changes.

When you start thinking about your spring resolutions, it is worth making use of the support you can get from specialists who can arrange a healthy and balanced diet according to your needs. We offer such help in SuperMenu. In my dietary catering, you can choose a variant tailored to your lifestyle and goals that you would like to achieve. Some of you want to gain weight, others would like to lose some extra pounds, others do intense workouts and need the right nutrients. After the autumn-winter period, it is also a good idea to strengthen your immunity and overall condition of the body.

Which diet should you go for in the spring and summer? I recommend the ones that I follow myself! 🙂

Intermittent Fasting Diet

It is a model of nutrition based on fasting alternated with eating windows, during which you should consume the amount of calories and necessary nutrients determined according to your energy needs.

There are two basic models of intermittent fasting: the first one, in which fasting lasts at least 24 hours throughout the entire week, and the second one which consists in setting an interval within a day for the period of fasting. In our diet, we used the concept of consuming meals within a specified 16/8 nutritional window, which means a 16-hour fasting period and an 8-hour nutritional window. 18/6 and 20/4 ranges are also possible.

The main goal of this variant is to restore the normal circadian rhythm and improve metabolic regulatory mechanisms, which may translate into a number of health benefits.

Sirtfood Diet

This diet has been created for people who want to reduce excess body weight and take care of their health at the same time. It is characterized by a high content of products that activate sirtuins which improve metabolism and accelerate fat burning, slow down the aging processes of the body, and regulate the level of glucose and insulin.

Their high consumption also has a beneficial effect on well-being and health. It consists in including the so-called sirtfoods, i.e. products that stimulate the so-called longevity genes. Sirtuin-activating genes play an important role in the process of losing excess body weight, influencing the regulation of glycaemia and insulin levels. Their activation may also be beneficial in the case of both prevention and the occurrence of diseases such as type II diabetes or neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease or Parkinson’s disease.

Immunity Boosting Diet

It is aimed at strengthening the body in periods of reduced immunity. The nutritional program contains beneficial ingredients and microelements such as vitamins C, A, E, omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, selenium, and copper. The meals are also rich in spices necessary to strengthen the body: ginger, turmeric, cinnamon and herbs from our own greenhouses – thyme and oregano.

Which type of diet will be right for you? If you still don’t know, it is a good idea to consult your choice with our SuperMenu dietitian. More information about the available variants can be found HERE 🙂
