Take Care of Your Immunity: Diet and Supplementation

In today’s post from the BOOST YOUR HEALTH series, I would like to show you what changes I make in my diet in the fall and winter to effectively support my immunity. Learn about the new Levann Immunity supplement, which can be helpful throughout this process 🙂 I am glad that we have managed to create a product that, through multidirectional action, strengthens the body from the inside because that’s where immunity starts.

First and foremost – Diet

I always point out that one universal, perfect diet doesn’t exist. We all have different needs and know best what we need. If you have been struggling with any disturbing ailments for a long time, it is worth doing blood tests after consulting your doctor in order to check whether they are caused by a deficiency or excess of a given ingredient in the diet. In autumn and winter I introduce some changes to my diet that help my body survive this demanding period. What should you focus on?

  • Fruit and vegetables

Although it is more difficult to get fresh local products in autumn and winter, they should still be the basis of our diet. They provide vitamins, minerals, antioxidant compounds with anti-inflammatory properties, and fiber. Remember that you can use frozen fruit, vegetables, and preserves. Do not forget about lactose-fermented products which support the condition of the gut microbiota!

  • Spices

My favorites are cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric. They have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. They are perfect for preparing warm infusions, you can add them to your morning millet porridge or cream soups. You can also prepare home-made immune-boosting shots! Mix lemon juice with a little honey, turmeric and freshly grated ginger. Enjoy!

  • Warming soups and infusions

In autumn and winter I definitely feel I need more hot meals. They help the body to warm up. I recommend aromatic soups (you can find a collection of recipes for my favorite soups HERE), which you can season with a lot of spices. Remember also about warm infusions with citrus (lemon, orange, grapefruit), spices or honey (add it when the beverage is slightly cooled so that it doesn’t lose its properties).

Natural ingredients that support immunity

Levann Immunity is a unique composition of ingredients of natural origin that will help protect the body against infections. The list of ingredients includes:

  • LACTOPHERINE – known as the immune panacea. Its main task is to support iron absorption and replenish healthy gut bacteria.
  • ZINC, its deficiency is one of the main causes of a weakened immune system, and its adequate level reduces the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines that cause infections.
  • VITAMIN D – its deficiency is very common, resulting in, among others, worse well-being and lower immunity. Vitamin D not only supports natural defense mechanisms, but its appropriate concentration is also associated with a lower risk of many diseases, such as osteoporosis, cardiovascular and neurological diseases. I wrote more about it HERE.
  • ALLICINE, which you can also find in garlic, onion and radish. It has strong bactericidal, virucidal and anti-inflammatory properties. Its supplementation during an ongoing infection can significantly shorten the duration of the disease!
  • GINSENG – it has an immunostimulating effect, increasing the body’s resistance to bacterial and viral infections. It also has an antioxidant effect!
  • BETA-GLUCANS – located, among others, in the cell walls of fungi and yeast. On the one hand, they enhance the body’s immune response, and on the other, they reduce inflammatory reactions by intensifying anti-inflammatory processes.
  • VITAMIN C – known to everyone, one of the most important natural antioxidants.

Remember that there is no substitute for a balanced, personalized diet. Thanks to appropriate supplementation, however, you can support the body and facilitate its daily fight against viruses and bacteria. This is exactly what the Levann Immunity supplement has been created for 🙂
