Christmas Millet Porridge

It’s all about breakfast ideas again! I recommend kicking off your cloudy winter morning with a nutritious and warming breakfast. Let me show you today a recipe for a Christmas flavoured millet porridge. Remember that spices are not only reserved for desserts or drinks, but you can also use them to add this special aroma to your breakfast.  And they really pair well with the addition of some dried fruit, oranges and plums.

 

Preparation:

I rinsed the groats once or twice in cold running water. Then I cooked it according to the recipe on the packaging. Once it has absorbed all the water, I poured in the coconut milk, added grated ginger, raisins and cranberries, and the spice mix, and cooked for a short while. I halved the plums and baked them at 180°C for 15 minutes on the top shelf of the oven. Then I stirred in orange juice honey, baked plums and coconut oil.
